Dysport™

Dysport™ (injections) is now FDA-approved for temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe lines associated with frowning in adult patients under 65.

Dysport™ injections have a similar mechanism of action to Botox® injections. Studies show that Dysport™ injections take effect within hours to days and may last up to four months. The major benefit of using Dysport™ is onset of action.

Dysport™ is used in a similar fashion as Botox® Cosmetic. Studies show that up to 2-3 units of Dysport™ are equal to one Botox® Cosmetic unit. While this number is not exact, it is a convenient conversion factor.

If you use 100 units of Botox® Cosmetic injections, you should anticipate injecting 200-300 units of Dysport™. According to the package insert for Dysport™, 50 units are required to achieve clinic efficacy for frown line wrinkle treatment.
