Hyaluronic Acid Fillers -- Restylane™, Perlane, Hylaform™, Hylaform Plus™ & JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel-- are a biotechnologically produced version of hyaluronic acid, a tissue friendly substance that occurs naturally in the body, and whose most important function is to carry and bind water. The injected gel is completely bio-compatible.

What Is JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel?

Over time, our once youthful skin gives way to wrinkles and folds. But JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel restores your skin and smoothes facial lines! JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration.

JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice—but no one will know!

With hyaluronic acid fillers, nutrients, oxygen and hormones are able to pass freely between the gel particles and the tissue, leaving the skin natural and healthy. As the gel breaks down, water takes its place and when totally absorbed the gel disappears unnoticed from the body. These injected gels are NOT collagen and NOT botulinum toxin, Botox®.

Safety: More than one million next-generation filler treatments have been performed successfully since the launch of Restylane in 1996. Adverse reactions are very rare. Temporary local reactions related to hypersensitivity occur in less than 1 in 2000 treatments. Medical use of hyaluronic acid-based products is well documented in other areas such as eye surgery and orthopedics.

Effects of these injections is instantaneous and long-lasting but not permanent. Generally, follow-up is required after five to six months. The method of injecting hyaluronic acid fillers is fast and safe and leaves no scars or other traces on the face.

For wrinkle treatments, pain relief is not required by all patients; however it can be easily arranged at your request. Prior to your procedure, a topical anesthetic cream can be applied to the area to be treated. You can also choose to have a local anesthetic injection.
