Photo-dynamic therapy using BLU-U and Levulon® Kerastick® are FDA approved light therapies for treatment of pre-cancerous lesions known as actinic keratoses (AK). Eighty percent of pre-cancerous lesions may be eradicated after one treatment session.

A two-step therapeutic process involving the BLU-U in combination with Kerastick® (aminolevulinic acid HCL) eradicates up to 80% of sub-clinical and clinical AKs.

For those who want an alternative to freezing (cryotherapy) or surgical excision of pre-cancerous lesions, phototherapy with Kerastick® is the one alternative.
